Swedish hard rockers Crazy Lixx are back with another gem of an album that harkens back to the best of ‘80s hard rock, while also keeping a foot firmly planted in the 21st century. “Forever Wild” further cements the band's status as one of the leaders of the Scandinavian led hard rock revival, cleverly melding a sleaze/hair metal approach (reminiscent of Motley Crue, Warrant, and Winger) with voracious hooks and melodies.
With huge choruses, instantly memorable riffs, wailing, emotive guitar solos, and massive production by Danny Rexon and Chris Laney, "Forever Wild" is sure to resonate with old fans and new listeners alike. Singer Danny Rexon says, "Ruff Justice was the first album where I took on the full role of producer, including recording, engineering, editing and some of the mixing. Naturally, there were things that I learnt along the way and, in retrospect, things that could have been done better. On the new album, I was once again the producer, but this time I brought in a whole lot more experience with me and had a clearer picture of what needed to be done to get a GREAT sounding album. So, you could definitely say that the new album is a natural progression from 'Ruff Justice'. It’s actually the first time in the history of the band where the same band members have recorded under roughly the same conditions, in the same studios, with more or less the same equipment and with the same producer. For the first time, you can hear continuity from one album to the next, so I’d say if you’re a fan of 'Ruff Justice', I bet you’ll enjoy this new album the same, if not even more!"
The band explores a wider range of styles than ever before on “Forever Wild”. From the hard rocking and anthemic opening track “Wicked” to the AOR inspired upcoming single “Silent Thunder,” to songs like "Eagle", that sounds like it came off a Bon Jovi album circa 1986, Crazy Lixx manage to blend a love and reverence for ‘80s hard rock with their own unique stamp on each track. Rexon continues, "I think the way the album turned out has a lot to do with the current line-up that we established in 2016. I’ve always been a fan of melodic hard rock and hair metal, but with previous members, we’ve been pulling a bit more in different directions at times, so the result hasn’t always gone towards the goal I’d like them too, certainly not as much as it has on this album. I can honestly say that the way Crazy Lixx sounds today is a lot closer to how I envisioned the band to sound in the early 2010’s (around the time of 'New Religion') than how we actually sounded 5-6 years ago."
With “Forever Wild", Crazy Lixx have set the bar very high against their own revered and celebrated catalog. Their best album yet? We’d say so!

Danny concludes, “On release day (May 17th), we have an album release show in our hometown of Malmö, along with fellow Frontiers band Creye. After that, we’re lining up a bunch of summer festivals to kick off touring. I think there is a definite summer vibe to this album and the new songs will really fit well on an outdoor summer festival. Really looking forward to this summer’s shows.”

BLESSED CURSE are eager to present the music video for “Subspecies,” the next sample of the Nor Cal group’s anticipated next album. Filmed by Kenji Tsunami at Tsunami Films (Hatchet, Tegmentum) the band’s first music perfectly captures the trio’s venomous thrash metal perfectly as the band rip and shred through a classic performance-based breakdown of the track.
“It’s been a long time coming but we could not be prouder to have our first official music video in the books. The process was smooth and straightforward working with Kenji Tsunami -- we got on stage and rocked out for 3 hours. The end result was exactly what we were going for and felt right for this project and song,” explains drummer Derek Bean. “While we were new to the music video process, we utilized some insights picked up here and there to be as prepared for the video shoot by simulating the playback setup in a rehearsal room in Sacramento the week prior. That definitely helped.”
“’Subspecies’ is one of our more groove-oriented songs with a heavy emphasis on the backbeat providing a solid pulse to the riffs. Being a different feel than the other songs on the album thanks to the triplet-based grooves, there is almost a more solid link to older BC material which utilized a similar approach. This, along with the subterranean bloodthirsty creature story, the song serves as a great choice for our first official music video. There is a definite contrast to the first single ‘Throne of Bones’ which is bludgeoning sonically compared to ‘Subspecies.’ Intended to be this way, there is a lot of ground covered with both of these songs which represent what BC is about pretty thoroughly.”
Vocalist/guitarist Tyler Satterlee adds, "’Subspecies’ is about the idea that when daylight falls, evil crawls out... In this case evil comes in the form of creatures that live in underground caves and as the sun descends, awaken to hunt children in local villages for the sole purpose of eating them alive before the sun rises.”
"Shooting our first official music video for ‘Subspecies’ in Oakland, CA was an eye-opening experience from the moment we loaded in our gear onto the soundstage! From camera angles, to lighting, to ‘acting’ and miming to the song, to previewing takes, everything was brand new to us but also very fun,” furthers Tyler. “Once editing was being finalized, seeing ourselves in an actual music video format was a dream come true after so many years waiting to do a video. We couldn't be any happier with the end result hope all the headbangers out there enjoy it too, cheers!"

Recognized for their deadly thrash metal the trio strike back with another ruthless outing filled with crunchy guitars, bellowing vocals and hammering drums complimented by a lyric video created by Raf Orteaga at Ecliptic Visions (Ayreon, The Absence, Hecate Enthroned) while the digital single is on all streaming/download platforms.
“’Throne of Bones’ is a malicious track about an individual who meets with a witch that teaches you how to change your physical form into something sinister to get away with brutal murders,” explains guitarist/vocalist Tyler Satterlee. “With this power this person literally constructs a throne of bones of his enemies deep in the woods, gleefully sitting upon a bloody chair of vengeance.”
“’Throne of Bones’ is one of those tracks that has a great end cap feel to it,” furthers drummer Derek Bean. “Finalizing the album, it definitely brings an intense closure to an intense record. Loaded with all the dark imagery, heavy riffing and pounding double bass that the band is known for I couldn’t be happier with how the song delivers on all of the B.C. strong points. All the while it is still pushing the boundaries of what we do to keep progressing with heavy music without abandoning what we’re all about.”
“Throne of Bones” follows up “Street Freaks,” the first self-released song the Sacramento-based outfit issued last year as work began on what eventually became the anticipated new full-length, ‘Pray For Armageddon.’ Anticipated because it’s been 6 long years since BLESSED CURSE released the ‘Beware Of The Night’ EP, and 11 since the group’s full-length self-titled debut. Productivity and output hasn’t been the band’s forte, but their core metal belief and dedication is and the band has played all over Northern California plying their trade and fans continue to support and anxiously await more new music.

Tyler Harper (guitar) comments: "We are so honored to have worked with Candace Puopolo on this track. I grew up listening to Walls of Jericho and they were always a major influence on my music. To have a legend involved with what we're doing is such a rad feeling."
Tracking in Estuary Recording Studios in Austin, Texas, with Andrew Hernandez, Errors was mixed by Taylor Young and mastered by Brad Boatright, the latter two having worked on In Transmission (2021). Guitarist Tyler Harper comments, "I knew that I wanted it to pick up where the first album left off, but that it needed to have an entirely new attitude. If you listen to the last song from 'In Transmission' into the first song on 'Errors', it's a continuation. From there the album steers off into a direction that still feels similar but is new." Coming primarily from a hardcore background, giving listeners a sense of nostalgia for the sounds of the late 90's and early 2000's hardcore and punk scenes, but also incorporating elements of metal that complement the overall tone, everything the band does on Errors resonates with emotion; nothing is forced.
For collaborations, Capra recruited Walls Of Jericho vocalist Candace Puopolo to add her inimitable tones to "Human Commodity," while their friend Dustin Coffman from Glassing added backing vocals to a handful of tracks. Producer Hernandez also added some piano to "Nora," which closes out the album in a very different manner than anything they've previously explored. In a complete juxtaposition to the tracks that precede it, "Nora" is atmospheric and lithe, delicate and haunting. "I've always wanted to show a prettier/lighter side to this band where it's not always aggressive," says Harper. "Life is a rollercoaster and sometimes you need to throw some pretty piano into it." Since Capra's inception, Harper has always envisaged each album being a continuation of the last, and then breaking it off into its own journey, seeing "Nora" as "a fun way to start album three!"
Until then, the band will tour like the road warriors they have become, bringing Errors to North America and overseas (see below for all upcoming dates). Capra are eager to bond with fans new and old. Lotus explains that crucial connection: "Care about us because we care about you. And because we are a part of creating something our community can be proud of."

Despite Harm’s Way’s reputation for unrelenting ferocity, "Common Suffering" surprises at several turns with quieter moments of intricate songwriting that emphasizes light and shade. It’s their understanding of how to effectively orchestrate these dynamics that makes their latest feel infinitely more merciless. This is Harm’s Way at their best – the ambitious sound of a band traversing new ideas and succeeding with their strongest and most fully-realized effort to date. For their improbable new single “Undertow,” the band united with Kristina Esfandiari (King Woman) whose haunting vocals add a whole new dimension. It comes with an arresting video directed by Finn O’Connell and features both Harm’s Way and Esfandiari.

This time around, Harm’s Way shifted to recording at Studio 4 in Pennsylvania with producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Code Orange). Going into the recording, the goal was to improve some of the band's processes, examine vocal cadences and experiment during production to gain the best idea from each track. The first change dealt with refocusing members on their specific wheelhouses. While vocalist James Pligge had previously assisted with riffs, on this effort, his main objective was to ensure the perfect vocal attack– leaning into Yip for advice and letting the remainder of the band take the wheel with their respective parts. The result is each player pushing to the far reaches and creating material that has previously never been colonized by any band, or hardcore writ large, before.

As the Earth of 2020 continues to revolve in a puzzling singularity, three of the world’s most powerful men have harnessed their collective capabilities for nuclear and musical power into a quest for world peace. A Clear and Present Rager was recorded in Denver, Colorado by Dave Otero at Flatline Audio. “Frankly, a lot of power trio recordings are just pathetic. We thought about records we all liked sonically and kept coming back to Cattle Decapitation, so it was terrific that Dave had us all out to beautiful Colorado to golf and record,” stated Donald.
The debut EP is set for an October release just before the United States presidential elections, a timely moment to catalyze a bold and conscientious path towards world peace. The unknown future rolls toward us, but we face it, for the first time, with a sense of hope. If these three men, these world leaders of differing views and morals, can learn the value of a peaceful existence on Earth through music, maybe we can too.

As the Earth of 2020 continues to revolve in a puzzling singularity, three of the world's most powerful men have harnessed their collective capabilities for nuclear and musical power into a quest for world peace.
Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un are certainly uncommon names when discussing potential supergroups, but in keeping on the surreal path of the ever-distorting world, they were destined to come together.
"I was really being tough. There's maybe no one tougher than me - everyone knows it - and it was shocking, just hugely shocking, when we would go back and forth on what we wanted our music to be like, that we fell in love," Donald said, reminiscing on initial conversations with Kim. "When I heard him play the drums for the first time, I said, Now here's a tremendous drummer. My hands are above-average sized, I assure you, and can reach many frets on the guitar. I need complementary talent on the drums. Kim is that talent, and we have a fantastic chemistry."
The groundwork for several songs emerged from a single session, with cabinet members who heard the demos remarking that after listening they felt immediately more centered and ready to navigate the world. Donald and Kim's efficiency spoke volumes to the value of utilizing a musical platform in place of a political one. With their productivity and momentum, they sought out the missing piece to their harmonious plan.
Knowing the candidate needed to match both their undisputed authority and prodigious musicality, it came as no surprise they tapped Vladimir Putin for bass duties. "We had candid and meaningful talks with Putin on how to unite our three great nations as a means to unite the world. We determined that a band was the correct path of virtue," stated Kim, rubbing a [REDACTED BY NORTH KOREAN GOVERNMENT]. "His bass playing reminds me of the way Jordan played ball: delightfully selfish, uncompromising in his greatness."
When asked about joining the group's audacious goal of peace through music, Vladimir said, "Everything will probably never be good for people, but we have to try. I believe in the power of music. Do you see my heart?" Vladimir was shirtless, on one of his majestic white horses, tapping a finger to his chest. "I play from here."
Our world has seen more than enough conflict. If there's a chance at unity, if there's a chance to turn gnarly riffage into a better society, then it's a chance that must be taken. These three leaders are no strangers to stopping at nothing to get what they want - and they want peace.
To achieve their goal, they've laid down a tremendously strong foundation. Donald, using the very same guitar that was left behind by an evicted family in one of his father's housing complexes back in the 70s, plays metallic fusion lines over a tight rhythm section: the ballot-ripping bass of Vladimir, the [REDACTED] beats of Kim. With flourishes of 80's synthwave and Latin-inspired classical guitar, the saving of the world is as musically and emotionally satisfying as it is pure fun.

Donny had this to say about the new music video: “So Critical Bass Theory is one of the greatest songs, probably ever recorded. Everyone says so! We decided to film a performance video inside our compound, which is easily the greatest band rehearsal space/superhero lair ever. We needed someone amazingly famous who could tickle the ivories for us, so we invited a very, very special guest... our great friend Lizzy, the Queen of England! And you know what, she really did such a tremendous job... just an incredibly fantastic job. She really brings the video to life! Hope you all enjoy the playing, because it's the best!”

"Donny, Vladi P and I had a little tiff at the end of the aggressive touring cycle for the last record. We made up though and decided to spend some time in the supreme U.S. city of Miami, Florida. We went to a bunch of synthwave clubs, drove around in an orange Lambo, purchased white suits together, and watched a lot of Miami Vice. We really just fell in love with each other all over again and it was truly inspiring." - said Supreme Drummer Kimmy.
As a result of their inspirational South Beach sabbatical, the trio have concocted an LP that dwarfs the magnitude and ambition of their debut release. Arrangements include strings, real shred-harp, horn sections, and full-on synthwave leads. Elevating the songs to previously unforeseen heights are guest solos from Chris Broderick (In Flames, Megadeth), Ben Ellis (Scar Symmetry), Brian Hopp (Cephalic Carnage), and Scott Carstairs (Fallujah). Rounding out the epic compositions are orchestrations from Jesse Zuretti (Marvel), and for the first time on a Nuclear Power Trio song, vocals.
"We kept telling the label, We've done a great job, but it's not finished yet, and when we finish will be, in a position like it hasn't been, maybe ever,"said lead guitarist Donny. "You think about it, and you really ask anybody, really, what could make 2023 incredible, and they'll tell you it's Wet Ass Plutonium.
"Donny told me this was a ‘trio'… One presidential harpist and a couple secret service horn sections later, there were over 750 tracks in the project. Anytime I bring it up he threatens to ‘send me over the wall', whatever that means. I'm pretty sure this is a misappropriation of government funds, but I'm keeping my mouth shut." - quipped the band's producer Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Archspire).
