Melodic death metallers Voidfallen have unleashed an intense new single, "Starved Of Martyrs", a first taste of the upcoming album the band is currently working on. The track is accompanied by a brand new and captivating music video, which you can watch here.

Commenting on the new single, Voidfallen states: "Starved of Martyrs is a fast and relentless track that adds almost a thrashy feeling to the band’s otherwise blackened melodeath sound palette. The theme of the song revolves around the toxic glorification of living in misery."

Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, and formed in 2019 as a two man project by guitarists Tommi Kangaskortet and Henri Vuorenmaa, the goal has always been to learn from previous mistakes and to create music with no compromises. After recording the band's debut EP titled "The Sinners, the Plague and the Voidfallen" (2019) the remaining slots were filled with skilled musicians in order to prepare for live shows and ever since, Voidfallen has been making a fast-growing name for itself.
But not only musically in terms of quality of compositions and production, this band has always paid lots of attention to the visual aspects, taking the melodeath genre to new heights with their dark approach and stunning visual effects.

Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album "The Atlas of Spiritual Apocalypse" (2021), Voidfallen caught the attention of German record label Noble Demon, with whom the band will release their highly anticipated sophomore full-length record in early 2024.

"Since the beginning of this band we’ve aimed to find partners with whom we can not only elevate our art always to the next level but who also are directly eye to eye with our thoughts of the band and where we want to take it. Lyrically the song is about taking the light from the dark.

We bandy the word ‘love’ around and use it for such a wide range of feelings and expressions, but it’s still one of the hardest things for us to talk about and show. It’s not fluffy, it’s fearless and righteous. During this unique time of lockdown and quarantining during the Covid19 pandemic a light is being shone on all that has been neglected, on all that needs attention, on all that is crying to be fixed. It’s asking us to hold ourselves accountable. This song reflects the uncomfortable sensation that arises when we do that, when we sit and listen in to all the times we didn’t act when we should have, when we realise we have turned a blind eye to what’s important for the sake of comfort, when we see the truth of where that has led us. But rather than torture ourselves, it is also a call to reconnect to our core values, allow ourselves to be vulnerable, admit we’re not blameless, and then be brave enough to move forward with courage and compassion. Freedom and innocence felt so good when we started out, that purity is still there at our center, even if covered by layers of life-grime and defensive barriers of our own creation. Remember who you are. You’re me and I am you.

The Start Or The End.
Independently made video by Die So Fluid for the release of the new single July 18, 2021. Capturing a moment in time, reflecting on loss and recovery, through a visual story of contrasts.

The video was filmed and edited by Grog in Los Angeles, her home for over a decade now, and where she has been increasingly moved by the burgeoning homeless crisis and the ever expanding gulf between the have and have nots. Grog filmed at some of the newly sprung up satellites of skid row including the doorstep of Venice Beach.

He could be kind of extreme sometimes; I agree. But he was my partner all those nights on the hunt.

And he was right about this, and we just killed him cowardly, a betrayal in cold blood.

A calculated casualty, we just measured the odds and preferred this option instead of facing the truth.

Chapter 3: Spectre of Love

It’s safe here on Mars. I feel better since I left Earth, there was so much noise, hate, violence, war… it just overshadowed everything else.

But I still miss her though.

It’s strange, 'cause time is not the same for me, we’re still together and at the same time, we’re not. I shouldn’t feel so blue, I always knew it would end, that I would disappoint her, make her cry… but it’s the way it goes.

That guy really messed with my mind, he was able to hide from my perception and I just couldn’t stop his crazy plan… as a result millions died.

But here’s the thing, is earth much better or worse now? Will something ever stop them from killing themselves? Isn’t self extermination their ultimate fate?

Honestly, from here it looks quite the same… I’m confused, I’m sick and I'm tired of getting trapped up in their tangled lives.

A megalomaniac lunatic has this crazy plan to stop a nuclear war that would annihilate mankind: Provoking a smaller and under control genocide… REALLY?

Not that I am a moral standard, but I just can’t understand this… I used to think everything in this life was nothing but a stupid a joke and never took things too serious. What the hell!
