The overall theme of these three songs is an attempt to describe the otherworldy, the emotions your body can’t contain and the desperate measures you take when you feel that there is something out there calling for you, something much bigger than you, but you know that if you could reach it, talk to it, you’d feel a sense of belonging for the first time in your life. Because that’s what we all miss, isn’t it? We all want to belong somewhere, but it never feels right. You always have that itch, that slightly uncomfortable feeling that you could be so much more, if you’d only been somewhere else, with a soulmate who knew everything you’d been through, and never judged any of your actions because it was the only thing you could do at that time.
Death Diviner doesn’t provide the answers. The Feverish Trilogy doesn’t provide the answers. But they provide a ”What if?” that might change your life."

His idea was that the whole band would be locked inside these speakers and amps, and this girl's walking her dog and she finds the speakers and amps in the bushes. Like all bands that meld metal’s numerous disparate incarnations, Vancouver's Atræ Bilis are not easily pigeonholed. Death Metal, atmospheric dissonance, tech brutality and much more are all thrown into the Atræ Bilis meat grinder coalescing beautifully and disturbingly into their own signature fusion like a perfectly functioning innovative machine.
On new album ‘Aumicide’, the follow up to the band’s full length 2021 debut ‘Apexapien’, Atræ Bilis have taken axiomatic strides in expanding the scope of their elegantly perplexing melange of incinerating invocations. Sounding both crushingly concrete and slickly organic, the band amputates all boundaries, injecting cyberdyne slams, serrated inscrutability and unfettered new magnitudes of vocal abuse. Conceptually as committed as it is musically, ‘Aumicide’ tells of a test specimen subject to experiments in faith removal by intromitting simulations of Hell to sever the self from the multiverse, resulting in the genesis of a new era; an egregore engineered by an absolute godlessness.
Produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson of Cryptopsy, the massive production on ‘Aumicide’ utterly pulverizes, elevating the Canadian power to uncharted extremities of deadly heaviness. This manifestation results in one of the most singularly ambitious underground releases of 2024, propelling the often backward-looking Death Metal genre unflinchingly into a far more terrifying future.

Comments returning vocalist Ezra Haynes, “Originally recorded during the same session as our last single, ‘Inhumation,’ we wanted to release ‘Iridescent’ to give our fans a little love before we full send our next album cycle. This stand-alone single was cut from the very cloth of ALLEGAEON's Elements Of The Infinite era. Perfect timing too, as we're about to head out on the North American leg of the Cancer Culture Tour with Decapitated, Speticflesh, and Kataklysm this April. It will be very cool to see how the newer material is received. Here we are, just about ten years from when we released the song ‘1.618.’ We still get asked to this very day about our wheel of subgenres, or, ‘Where's the crab?’ I'm really looking forward to the next ten-plus years of glizzies.”
Adds guitarist Greg Burgess, “The music for ‘Iridescent’ spawned from my excitement of working with Ezra again. We had been throwing ideas back and forth, rekindling our writing chemistry, and this song just seemed to write itself. The accompanying video's subject matter evolved much like our video for ‘1.618.’ Five guys sat around talking about stupid things until we started laughing. Then the question was posed... ‘What if?’ Anyway, I hope people like hotdogs and stupid videos.”

He is a universal figure personifying the dark nature of power, especially political power, exercised over us by self-proclaimed tyrants, kings, oligarchs and dictators, but also by corrupt democratic governments. The individual is always in a weaker position when confronted with the BloodKing, who has more than enough pretexts to deprive him of rights and enslave him. The song was composed before Putin invaded Ukraine yet it perfectly relates to the situation and the dark persona of Russian dictator.

For more than 20 years, vocalist/guitarist Michael Poulsen has been spearheading Danish rock and roll machine Volbeat, releasing eight full-lengths, selling millions of albums, and filling stadiums worldwide. Before fronting Volbeat, however, Poulsen formed death metal band Dominus, which recorded four fast, brutal albums in the mid '90s. When Poulsen was putting together songs for Volbeat's 2021 album, Servant Of The Mind, he wrote a bunch of death metal riffs and saved them on his phone. Then, when he was done with the Volbeat record, he reopened the rusty gates to Armageddon and started putting together songs for his new death metal band Asinhell, whose debut album Impii Hora (Latin for Ungodly Hour), is a tribute to Poulsen's favourite old-school groups. The songs are rooted in crushing riffs yet injected with strong guitar hooks and shout-along refrains.
"We're very excited to share the first taste of Asinhell with 'Fall Of The Loyal Warrior,'" says Poulsen. "The song is kind of a tribute to bands I love, like Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Autopsy, Grave, and Darkthrone. They're the reason why we can do this in the first place, and we're proud to wear our influences on our sleeve. The album was inspired by late '80s and early '90s old school death metal, and one of our brightest points of inspiration was the mighty Death, fronted by the legendary Chuck Schuldiner. There's a lot of Death in there. Schuldiner is one of my favorite death metal vocalists, the other being our vocalist Marc [Grewe]. So to me, this song is the combination of two of my favorites. 'Let the metal flow,' as Chuck would have said!"
While Poulsen sings in Volbeat and sang for Dominus, he didn't want to front Asinhell. So, in March 2022, he called his old friend, ex-Morgoth singer Marc Grewe (Insidious Disease) and invited him to join the party. "I had known Michael quite a long time and he always mentioned that we should do a death metal project one day, but I never took him too seriously because he was so busy with Volbeat," Grewe says. "Then he called for real and said, 'Yeah, I want to do it now. Are you up for it?' Immediately, I was 'Yes, of course!'"
After considering drummer friends from established bands, Poulsen asked Morten Toft Hansen from Danish group Raunchy to join. Not only does Morten play like a fiend possessed, his and Poulsen's six-year-old daughters are good friends… and, it takes just 10 minutes to drive to Morten's place.
The two veteran musicians started practicing and completed a full song almost every time they got together. Grewe was tied up at home in Germany when it came time to write the vocals, so Poulsen sent the singer phone recordings from rehearsals to start the process. Through Poulsen and Toft Hansen's years of experience and renewed hunger to destroy, they captured a firestorm in a bottle.
Asinhell went from being a mere idea to recording the piledriving full-length Impii Hora in about a year. Poulsen asked Volbeat's management to help find a home for Asinhell and was thrilled when they mentioned that Metal Blade founder Brian Slagel would love the band. As soon as he heard Impii Hora, Slagel made Asinhell a top priority. "It's such a dream come true for me to get to be on fucking Metal Blade Records," Poulsen exclaims. "When they said they wanted to put out the album, I felt like I was 17 years old again. I was like, 'Oh my God, I'm making a deal with Metal Blade! How cool is that?' It was like I was finally getting the record deal I dreamed of when I was a teenager."

""How To Make A Killer" is the opening track from our upcoming new album "Vile Postmortem Irrumatio". And as you can easily guess, the new full-length is going to be about the infamous American serial killer Edmund Kemper III. Just like our last album "Unterweger" it is a concept album structured like a Netflix true-crime documentary. Multilayered and many-faceted, it is revealing all kinds of aspects of Kemper's life and murders, right down to the last detail.
Musically, the song was composed by Paul Nazarkadeh and is a typical Monument Of Misanthropy death metal banger, with all kinds of mood changes and killer riffs. We're really happy to provide this first brief glimpse of what the new outing is going to sound like. A second single written by our new guitarist Julius Kössler (Spire Of Lazarus), scheduled to be unleashed later this summer, is heading into a more progressive and technical direction, but still brutal and really sick.
