Back in 2022, Tim and I met in a facebook group that was running a contest to make a modern metal song. We worked tirelessly for two weeks on this track getting it ready for the contest deadline and actually ended up placing in the top 10. After the contest, we decided we would polish up the song and make it really shiny and now we are thrilled to be able to share it with the world. It's my first time sharing something with harsh vocals - well actually, it was my first time doing harsh vocals at all on a track. I have since fallen in love with the way screams and gutterals can add a coarse and contrasting texture to my otherwise quite melancholy style of songwriting and composing, so I'm really grateful to Tim for pushing me outside of my comfort zone and adding djent riffs and not one but two breakdowns to this track.
