PRESS RELEASE- “’I Can’t Escape’ is one of my favorite songs on the record. The main riff was something totally different, and when we presented it to our producer (Chris Collier) we had a really good vision for the arrangement, but he totally heard something different! He sent us a few demos back and it was like ‘Whoa shit, there it is!’”
Going into the themes and message behind “I Can’t Escape”, Ogle adds:
“This was one of those songs that Joe immediately had lyrics and vocal ideas for and it really hits home for me with the topic of alcohol and substance addiction. There have been so many people throughout my adult life that I have watched get sucked into the pitfalls of that party lifestyle. When you’re young and in your 20s, nothing is a big deal, it’s all fun and games. Then, when you hit the 30s and 40s, things start to change, right? Suddenly these drinking habits are a bit more controlling than one might have realized and can open the gateway to other substances that are more lethal.
“We hope that this song connects with everyone that has had mental health, addiction, or substance issues in their lives or a loved one’s life. More than anything, the overall theme on this record is about overcoming, rising up, healing, and silencing fears and weaknesses that plague us all.”

Vocalist Ken Romlin about the song: ’’Before we started to work on 'Tales' I wrote down ideas about which entities I wanted to write about. And the Mare was obvious that it needed to get a song, so it became 'She Comes At Night'. This was one of the first songs we wrote for this record."

"We had our friend Marcus over to make a documentary of our gig in Gothenburg. For this video we went with the song ”She comes at Night”. And in this song we really went full on with the folk influences, but it was really important for us to do so without losing our own identity. "...Fool for a Lifetime" is the poignant English version of the song "...Głupcze Życia", originally featured in UKĆ's debut album, "Coming Out", which captivated audiences in April 2023. This release marks a significant chapter in the musical journey of Łukasz "Icanraz" Sarnacki, the enigmatic mastermind behind the one-man progressive black metal project from Białystok, Poland.
The song's lyrics convey a deeply personal narrative, as described by UKĆ: "It is a song that tells the story of a son who experiences great disappointment because his father turned away from him. It talks about the feeling of rejection, lack of meaning, and injustice. The lyrics of the song come from my diary because it is my personal story. For this reason, I decided to subtitle the album 'Love & Hate Diaries'. The song ends with a long acoustic part that allows the listener to reflect on the message of the lyrics. At the very end, you hear my son's heartbeat recorded during the CTG examination when he was still in fetal life. It is a link between three generations - my father, me, and my son."
