The song 'Death' has been handpicked by the band's girls to be the single, because it's one of the songs which best summarizes the main characteristics in Nervosa's music.
The main focus of the lyrics is to question the reasons which lead to the execution of a human being and talks about the last moments of a sentenced person's life. To match the meaning and the aggressiveness o the lyrics, it was decided by the band to do something very dark like a person being tortured before being executed and also takes of the band playing in a cemetery, once besides referring to 'death', which is the song title, it is surely a visually heavy place. The idea for the clip was in charge of the own band, and the local chosen to record it was a leper's cemetery, abandoned since the 60's.

"What Did You Expect?" - The first single taken from the forthcoming album "After Dark"

Infernalizer is the brand new creature conceived and brought to life by the creative mind of Claudio Ravinale to portray his own take on the heavy metal genre. Ravinale is best known as the vocalist of Italian death metal veterans Disarmonia Mundi, who has achieved worldwide recognition with their high-octane melo-death throughout two decades and featuring Bjorn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork) among their ranks, along with being in other recognizable bands such as The Silverblack, 5 Star Grave and The Stranded. Today, Infernalizer present their first single off the album, entitled "What Did You Expect?", the track is gothic metal meets Alice Cooper. "As soon as we finished it we decided it was going to be the first single. It's an overall very balanced and catchy track with a great chorus. The backbone of the song is very 80s metal-oriented, while the vocals switch from crooning gothic verses (pretty much in the vibe of Type O Negative and The 69 Eyes) to more energetic harsh yet melodic vibes in the bridge and chorus, reminiscent of bands like Wednesday 13 and Lordi. The guitar solo is once again inspired by 80s hard rock. Lyrics-vise the track is a tongue-in-cheek reflection filled with black humor on toxic relationships." THE MOTH have honed their no-nonsense approach to SludgeMetalDoom on numerous tours and gigs. Their songs are virtually void of frills, instead opting to turn out hammer heavy drums and riff ready rock ’n’ roll – as brutal as it is bewitching. Catchy hooklines get stuck in the listener’s heart and mind like a dislodged meat hook, explaining why the band calls their style doom-sludge pop.

Bass player and singer Cecile Ash reveals the touching story behind the single "Battlefield" in her own words:

Often, the worst emotional injuries come from a direction we would never expect - from the people closest to us. In those moments, there seems to be no solace to be found, and we feel abandoned. Sometimes, the pain is so intense or the shame is so overwhelming that we cannot (yet) talk about it, and we are left alone with our grief. We put on a smile for the world, even though we are being torn apart inside. In doing so, we deny ourselves and, to exaggerate it slightly, we slowly destroy our souls - with each of these situations a bit more. Perhaps this is not an exaggeration, but rather the reality.

Engraved With Pain is a moment of grim triumph, as rooted in Celtic Frost as in Ministry, still somehow extrapolated from the gods Black Sabbath and characteristic of no one so much as themselves. Spacious, crushing, darkly thoughtful enough to be progressive but never so indulgent as to lose sight of its core message, the offering was recorded with legendary producer Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts.

Playing out across four chapters in forty-minutes, the album sees the veteran outfit crafting rhythmic tension and lung-squeezing atmospheres as Polish-born guitarist/vocalist Miłosz Gassan emits layered guttural shouts that speak to inner and outer crises. Engraved With Pain makes its title believable, and from its eponymous opener through “Memories Like Stone,” “Wretched Empire,” and “Fire And Dust,” it carries humanity individually and collectively through the realities of its decline.

“’Wretched Empire’ is the first song off of our new album to be published bringing the wait to its end,“ Gassan notes of the band’s first single, as well as their first ever video. “Barebone, stripped down riffs and a cold look at today’s reality, lyrically it’s my take on the current situation in the world: How divided everything is and how people are prone to being misled. How we forget our history; history that happened not that long ago. I never comment on my lyrics but maybe in this case it's needed. I call humanity a ‘wretched empire.’ It's not an optimistic song. I hope people will enjoy it and find something for themselves in this single and the whole album as well.“

A fish-out-of-water tale of brutal honesty, the lyrics are a bit more straightforward and candid than usual from me, but that's what felt most authentic in the moment. After his return from the dungeon of the Castle of If, assumed the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo, Edmond Dantes discovers that his youth love, Mercedes, is married to one of his traitors: Fernand Mondego. There is no longer any place for love in the count's heart.

In March 2023, Rivers of Nihil wrapped up a recording session that saw the now four-piece band birth a considerable amount of new music featuring their previous bassist/backup vocalist Adam Biggs as the new lead vocalist/bassist. This recording session also marked the first appearance of new guitarist Andy Thomas (ex-Black Crown Initiate), whose vocals also play prominently in the music, as a member of Rivers of Nihil. These new singles are the first to showcase the band’s new lineup in full-on collaboration, and demonstrates that while this is a new, brave sound with tons of potential, it also carries the band's classic energy.

Here’s what Biggs had to say about the new song; “This song is about the dichotomy of living in a 21st century society rife with scientific and technological advancements such as artificial intelligence and ever more sophisticated space travel, while also dealing with the increasing threat of old world problems like out of control governments and the looming threat of world war.”

Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland of Atrium Audio engineered, mixed and mastered the new singles, with additional engineering by guitarist Brody Uttley.

The remaining three singles from the April 2023 recording session will be released leading up to the release of the band’s next full-length studio album, which the band is eager to begin work on.
